NINA SPENSLEY

Spensley Production LLC’s principal, NINA SPENSLEY is a producer, operations, and communications strategy consultant with extensive experience in the entertainment industry, nonprofit sector, and startup world. She most recently served as Head of Production for Dot Connector Studio LLC and Executive Producer for the nationally-syndicated show Our Body Politic. With a number of film projects under her belt, she is dedicated to civic participation, political representation, and narrative expression and has worked closely with several organizations including Democracy Fund, Hatch Escapes, Starfish Accelerator, and Sundance Institute. She is a co-founder of New American Leaders, the only U.S. organization specifically focused on preparing immigrants for civic leadership and political office. She served as the first Director of Communications for the Office of Immigrant Affairs of New York City (Mayor Michael Bloomberg) and is responsible for spearheading the first iteration of Immigrant Heritage Week, instituted under executive order, now in its 20th year. Nina hails from Haiti and the UK. Born in Amsterdam, she spent her early childhood years in Spain. As any good Black-American immigrant, she cherishes both the west and east coasts of the United States.
